Liza Faktor is a transmedia producer and curator. She has produced award-winning films, installations and multi-platform projects and curated over twenty exhibitions including Arena - Video and Beyond, Cortona; Surveillance series, Dubai-NY; PhotoQuai Biennale, Paris; and Projections of Reality, Moscow-Washington.
Her programming was featured in the US, the UK, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Brazil, Spain, UAE, and Russia. Prior to Vessel she was the co-founder of cross platform production Screen and ran a photography agency in Russia. She is a recipient of two Howard Chapnick awards for advancement of photojournalism and was a jury member of the World Press Photo Digital Storytelling Contest.
Andrea Arena is a filmmaker, producer and editor who has worked on several documentary, fiction films and video installations. He studied cinema in Italy, Advance Visual Storytelling at the Danish School of Media and Journalism and has a BA in Performing Arts from the Ca’Foscari University in Venice. Previously he worked at La Fenice Opera theater in Venice. He was the producer of Arena - Video and Beyond, an annual program of immersive installations at Cortona On The Move festival in Cortona, Italy that explores the intersection of photography, video, performance and technology.
His short documentary The Island of the Black Sun won best short film awards at three festivals in Italy and was screened internationally. In 2018 he shot, directed and edited his first feature documentary Taming Winter: A Story of Carnivals and Bears.
Alexey Layfurov is a producer, film curator and artist. He received an MA in visual communication at the Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design. He was the creative producer at the leading Russian documentary TV channel 24_DOC. He has worked as the head of international department of the documentary film festival Kinoteatr.Doc and programming director at the 35MM cinema in Moscow. He has programmed documentary films for the Moscow International Film Festival and has curated film programs for festivals and venues in Russia, Sweden, Spain and Germany. His latest graphic art project for the exhibition of Scottish documentary filmmaker John Samson was presented at the Glasgow Gallery of Modern Art.
Yulia Ochetova is a producer and documentary researcher. She has worked on factual films and television programs produced by Dutch national broadcasters VPRO and BNN (now BBNVARA), and leading documentary production companies Zeppers Film & TV, Submarine and De Haaien, among others.
She has researched and produced several documentary series about Russia and countries of the former Soviet Union by film director Hans Pool and writer and presenter Jelle Brandt Corstius. She has also worked as a multimedia producer and researcher at the BBC Russian Service at the BBC Moscow Bureau, covering news for radio, online video platform (and television). In 2016-2017 she completed a filmmaking course at Open Studio in Amsterdam.
Eugenia D’Ermoggine is a cultural producer focusing on visual and performing arts as tools for social action. She has a BA in International Relations and Politics from Queen Mary University in London and obtained a Masters in Visual Arts and Education at the University of Barcelona.
She has worked in production of Paraty em Foco festival in Brazil and has undergone professional training in Theatre of the Oppressed, a technique used to create dialogue about social conflicts through communitarian action. She collaborates with Home to Home, a non-profit generating immersive experiences for children to learn the language through games and dynamic research projects. She also coordinates projects at the Theatre of the Oppressed, aiming to generate awareness on feminist topics.
